How to Get Organic Traffic Quickly
My company recently launched a business blog. It's getting traffic from social bookmark sites, but I want more traffic from Google and Yahoo!. Any ideas?
Most people will recommend labor intensive message board posts with signature, exchanging links with other websites, and more marketing with social networking sites. That might work for someone promoting a consumer product, however, for technology marketers very few sites our available with our buyers.
Let's remember that search engines help people find valuable content.
If you want to grow your organic traffic then increase the quality of your blog posts and really focus on your target audience. Search engines are smarter than every before, if you can keep visitors on your site they will find you.
Inbound links are great if they are in front of your target audience. Casually get links, not too many at a time, shows search engines that you are growing. Focus on links from quality sites, but more importantly write content worth linking.
Your best bet is to write 2 or 3 articles a month for your site, with 1 or 2 a month as a guest blogger on a site targeted to your niche. If you hire a copywriter or have staff you may be able to produce more content.
Guest blogging and contributing to other sites where your visitors already visit will attract readers interested in what you have to say.
However, you must create content your visitors want to read. I cover specific formulas for writing content and how to target content for specific buyers in my B2B Website Profits Kit. Only a few articles a month while you are getting started will help you tune in on what you audience wants.
You can exchange guest posts, allowing other quality authors to write on your site. Invite published leaders in your industry, speakers from trade events, and other recognized professionals to contribute.
After you have 30 to 40 articles, regularly posted, you'll see Google and Yahoo! send valuable organic traffic. This is because you will have demonstrated your value to the market place, and that is what search engines want to give to their visitors.
Business blogging can attract new customers to your website, even those using search engines to find you. The key is providing value first, focusing on your visitors interest, and posting regularly.
