Why A Sales Lead Generation System

Why is it important to have a lead generation system? I find business owners don't have a clear concept of how they are going to generate leads; many leave this just up to sales people. As a sales or marketing manager, this is where you should take charge.

It's important that you have a system for generating leads for two reasons. The first is to keep sales people busy in a way that gives the company options. Second, to attract the type of customers you really want.

Left to their own devices sales people will try to sell to those only easiest to reach (low hanging fruit.) By supplying a percentage of their leads in an organized system that tracks follow up, you can better manage selling assets.

Generating leads at a corporate level has other advantages (if properly implemented - great link to mistakes in lead generation article.) including a lower cost of lead, centralized sales conversion management, cross selling, improved response rates from time of request to service, and capturing best practices to name a few.

If you don't have a handle on business-to-business lead generation, you are not alone, and that's why improving lead generation can create such significant returns. I've helped client improve lead flow by as much a 210% to grow their business. For a free email course with proven ideas to improve you lead flow, visit http://b2barticles.com/17EasyWays

Are you getting everything you can from sales leads that come into your business? Without a clear lead generation system, you could be working harder for smaller results than you deserve. Isn't it about time you closed more sales?
